Frankenstein Poster
Duration: October 2018 – November 2018
Tools: Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop
Project Overview: The intent of the poster design was to create a promotional poster the 200th Anniversary Illustrated Edition of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, or, The Modern Prometheus.
Challenges: My biggest challenge during this project was that I couldn’t stop portraying Frankenstein as a the monster character it is based off pop culture. Therefore, many of my initial iterations are more creepy-like and a demonic creature. It was not giving justice to the beautiful novel.
Solution: After taking multiple steps back and revisiting my high school literature notes about the novel as well as more online research, I came into the realization that I want to portray the true beautiful creature Frankenstein is. To do so, I manipulated images that symbolize Frankenstein’s story in the novel, such as a human head vs a skull, scriptures from the novel, mountains and birds, to create the center image piece.
